A Letter From The Chef

Bonner Cameron

With a long career of magic in the kitchen, Chef Cameron has the expertise and the passion to create an experience like no other for all that enter his restaurant.

Executive Chef Bonner Cameron’s passion for cooking began with the fond memories of grilling and smoking meats with his father.  Those memories inspired him to enroll in a culinary school where he earned his degree at the Arts Institute of Houston.  He immediately began to work with well-known Chefs in Houston hotspots such as Zula, Masraff’s, and Trevisio.  Chef Cameron was recognized as Up and Coming Chef in Houston’s MyTable Magazine in 2008, and also featured in Nation’s Restaurant News.

In the spring of 2011, Bonner moved to Little Rock where he began making a name for himself not only at Ya Ya’s Eurobistro, but the community as well. He was a finalist in Pulaski Techs Diamond Chef Competition which raised money for the local culinary program.  He also supported nonprofit organizations in the area, including the St. Vincent Foundation IV Party, the opening of St. Vincent Health West, and Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

In 2013, Chef Cameron decided to open an elite catering company along with his partner Crystal Dear called Bistro Catering. Then in 2018, Chef Cameron joined Allsopp & Chapple as Executive Chef. “Our vision is to create impeccable food of the highest quality. We want people to have a memorable experience that you cannot find anywhere else in Arkansas.”

Our Story

Where It All Began

Allsopp & Chapple Bookstore was once the premier bookseller in Arkansas, occupying the historic Rose Building shortly after it was constructed. Established by Fred W. Allsopp and James Chapple, the bookstore was a mainstay in downtown Little Rock for over six decades, becoming a landmark of Main Street’s vibrant and bustling business district.

The iconic Rose Building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was constructed circa 1900, and named for Arkansas Supreme Court Justice Uriah M. Rose. Famed architect George R. Mann, whose designs include the Arkansas State Capitol, Albert Pike Hotel, Pulaski County Courthouse, and Gazette Building, designed the Rose Building with ornate detailing intrinsic to the beautiful Neoclassic Revival Style.

Now, as a tribute to a bygone era and in honor of the classic Rose Building, we welcome you to present-day Allsopp & Chapple. Sit down, relax, and savor the highest quality cuisine, fine wine, and handcrafted cocktails. Enjoy the company of others in an ambiance reminiscent of vintage Little Rock.
